16 Ukrainian children born in Riga Maternity Hospital
RIGA, May 16 (LETA) - Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, a total of 16 Ukrainian babies have been born in Riga Maternity Hospital, the hospital's board chairperson Dr. Santa Markova said at a news conference Monday.
Another 58 pregnant Ukrainian women have been registered with Riga Maternity Hospital.
Markova said that so far two medics from Ukraine have joined the staff Riga Maternity Hospital and several others are expected to join later.
As reported, 28,920 Ukrainian war refugees have been registered in Latvia since Russia started the war on Ukraine, and 23,066 Ukrainians have been issued residence documents with the right to employment.
