RIGA, Jan 11 (LETA) - The municipality of Marupe near Riga is showing the highest Covid-19 incidence in Latvia, according to the latest data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases has risen to 951 per 100,000 population.

Over the past day, Covid-19 incidence hit 2,044.2 cases per 100,000 population in Marupe municipality and over 1,500 cases per 100,000 population in Kekava, Ropazi and Adazi municipalities in Pieriga.

In 13 municipalities, Covid-19 incidence currently exceeds Latvia's average number.

Of the 2,241 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia in the past 24 hours, 45 percent, or 1,005 cases, have been recorded in Riga.
