Riga, Feb 24 (LETA) - On Saturday, February 28, the congress of the political party Movement For will be held in Jelgava, the party informed LETA.

The congress will be opened by Jelgava City Council Chairman Martins Dagis, party Chairwoman Linda Curika, as well as party board members Miks Celmind and Martins Steins and the party's closest ally - the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) - Vice President, Estonian Rigikogu MP Yoko Alender.

The agenda of the congress includes the reports of the party's board and council, the report of the audit and ethics commission, the report on the work done by Movement For members in local governments, a debate among the party members, a think-tank and the approval of a resolution on the future work of the party in preparation for the 15th Saeima elections.

Movement For is currently represented in six Latvian municipalities - Laima Geikina and Inese Voika in the Riga City Council, Dagis and Uldis Dumins in Jelgava City Council, Martins Steins in Cesis municipal council, Santa Locmele in Ogre municipal Council, Bruno Jursevics in Ventspils City Council and Inta Brence in Rezekne municipal council.

Movement For was represented in the 13th Saeima and in the government, leading the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Interior, but no representatives were elected to the 14th Saeima.
