Vimba named as leader of Sigulda Municipality Party for upcoming local elections
Riga, Jan 16 (LETA) - Sigulda Municipality Party has nominated Janis Vimba, former director of the Latvian National Theatre and incumbent director of the Sigulda Regional Culture and Tourism Centre, as its leader for the upcoming municipal elections, the party informed LETA.
Vimba was nominated as a non-partisan leader of the Sigulda Municipality Party without officially joining the party.
Vimba has set as his priorities for the municipal elections the arrangement of governance issues and the sustainable development of the municipality, infrastructure, with a special emphasis on education, culture and sports in the municipality.
Vimba's previous career is related with the Finance Ministry and the Latvian National Theatre.
Local elections will be held in early June.
