Brante leaves the Latvian Association of Regions
Riga, Nov 11 (LETA) - Riga City Council lawmaker Ieva Brante has left the Latvian Association of Regions (LRA), LETA learned from the politician.
Explaining the reasons for her decision, she reminded that she had previously chaired the human rights committee at the Saeima, where she had had to face the LRA's different ideological vision on issues of importance to her, including family violence and the role of women in politics.
Brante said that for the time being she will continue to work for the LRA and the National Alliance faction in the Riga City Council.
