Local governments to get EUR 11.7 million to support Ukrainian refugees
RIGA, Feb 4 (LETA) - The government today supported allocation of EUR 11.7 million to local governments to support Ukrainian refugees in Latvia.
The funds are needed to compensate municipalities for the expenses they will incur in providing support for Ukrainian refugees in Latvia from December 2024 to June 2025.
This support covers the costs incurred in providing accommodation and meals, social support, education, public administration services, and others.
According to the Smart Administration and Regional Development Ministry, last year EUR 20.8 million was allocated to support Ukrainian refugees in Latvia.
