Jurmala municipality to provide health and cultural activities for Ukrainian citizens for EUR 100,000
Riga, April 27 (LETA) - The municipality of Jurmala will provide health care, rehabilitation, cultural and other activities for Ukrainian citizens for EUR 100,000, according to a draft decision of the city council.
The association Ukrainian and Latvian Friendship has appealed to the municipality to donate to Ukrainian civilians who have emigrated from Ukraine or who cannot return to Ukraine due to the armed conflict caused by Russia. Funds are needed for health care, rehabilitation measures that are not covered by the state budget, as well as for cultural events and fundraising activities to provide general support to Ukrainian society.
The draft decision of the city council provides for a donation of EUR 100,000. The funds are earmarked for activities and services received in health care, rehabilitation and cultural institutions in the administrative territory of Jurmala and for fundraising activities in premises located in Jurmala.
At the same time, it is planned that the funds earmarked for the donation are not transferred to the association Ukrainian and Latvian Friendship, but the invoices issued by the association to the institution designated by the Jurmala municipality, which provides the service to Ukrainian citizens, are paid.
