Hospital in Ogre to build new maternity wing for EUR 1.2 million
RIGA, July 25 (LETA) - The hospital in the central Latvian city of Ogre will build a new maternity wing for EUR 1.2 million, the hospital's head Dainis Sirovs informed LETA.
Last week Sirovs signed an agreement with general partnership AKN which will be building the hospital's maternity wing. The project is scheduled to be completed within a year. The hospital is financing the project with its own money.
Sirovs informed that this year's 300th baby - a girl - was born at the hospital last Sunday, and that this year the hospital reached this number nearly two weeks earlier than last year when the 300th baby was born on August 5.
The head of the hospital indicated that the new maternity wing is necessary to provide young moms with single room wards.
