TALLINN, Aug 07, BNS - Runikon Retail OÜ, operator of the IKEA store near Tallinn, was blacklisted by the Estonian Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority after, in the company's dispute with a customer, the agency had made a decision partly in favor of the customer.

The parties reached an agreement in June, but the franchise holder remained blacklisted due to a human error. The agency now removed the company from the blacklist, Postimees reported.

At the beginning of this summer, a customer approached the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority after failing to reach an agreement over problems related to the delivery and installation of goods with Runikon Retail, the franchise holder for the IKEA store in Tallinn. On June 15, the agency made a decision partially in favor of the individual and recommended that the parties conclude an agreement.

On July 22, the agency put the IKEA operator company on its blacklist.

Renata Dantė, corporate services manager for IKEA in the Baltics, said the issue underlying the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority's decision was resolved by the end of June. However, due to a human error, the agency was not informed in a timely manner.

"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to the customer. We always strive to ensure the best customer experience and to find suitable solutions to consumer complaints or concerns," she added.
