Latvian Association of Regions, represented by incumbent mayor Straubergs, wins elections in Limbazi municipality
Riga, June 8 (LETA) - The Latvian Association of Regions, represented by Dagnis Straubergs, the incumbent chairman of the regional council, has won the local elections in Limbazi municipality, according to data published by the Central Election Commission (CVK).
Counting the votes in all 20 polling stations in Limbazi municipality, the Latvian Association of Regions received 43.3 percent of the votes, winning seven seats. The Vidzeme Party is currently in second place with 25.19 percent of the votes, winning four seats.
At the same time, the Union of Greens and Farmers won 10.77 percent, winning two seats, the National Alliance won 8.72 percent, getting one seat, and the New Unity won 5.1 percent, also getting one seat at the local council.
The other parties in Limbazi municipality have not overcome the 5 percent barrier at the moment.
