New company registration in Latvia up 10.4% in Q1 - Lursoft
RIGA, April 7 (LETA) - In the first three months of 2025, a total of 2,973 new companies were registered in Latvia, which is an increase of 10.4 percent compared to the same period a year ago, according to information available in the Lursoft business database.
In March, new business registrations increased by 18.4 percent year-on-year, with 1,041 companies registered during the month.
The number of new companies registered last month is the highest recorded in a longer period of time, according to Lursoft. March 2021 was the last time more than 1,000 new companies were registered in Latvia during a month. The number of new companies registered in March 2026 is the highest since March 2018.
The total share capital of the companies registered this past March is EUR 6.46 million. The share capital of newly registered companies ranged from one euro cent to over EUR 900,000.
The majority, or 90.6 percent, of the companies registered in March are limited liability companies, 84 are individual business operators, seven farming enterprises, four branches of foreign companies, two general partnerships, and one is an individual enterprise.
