RIGA, July 9 (LETA) - At the end of June this year, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 4.6 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.1 percentage points higher than a month earlier, according to information published by the State Employment Agency (NVA).

At the end of June 2026, a total of 41,252 unemployed people were registered with NVA, which is 1,272 more than a month earlier, when 39,980 people were registered as jobless with the agency.

The lowest registered unemployment rate at the end of June remained in the Riga region - 3.7 percent of the economically active population, up 0.2 percentage points from a month earlier, while the highest registered unemployment rate was in the Latgale region - 9.4 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from a month earlier.

In Vidzeme, the registered unemployment rate increased by 0.1 percentage points in June to 4.1 percent of the economically active population at the end of the month.

Similarly, the registered unemployment rates in Zemgale and Kurzeme increased by 0.1 percentage points in June, to 4.4 percent and 4.5 percent of the economically active population, respectively.

At the end of 2025, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 5 percent of the economically active population.
