    Revenue of Local Government Finance Equalization Fund planned at EUR 256.22 million in 2026

    RIGA, Nov 11 (LETA) - In 2026, the revenue of the Local Government Finance Equalization Fund is projected at EUR 256.22 million, which is an increase of 4.1 percent compared to this year, according to draft government regulations prepared by the Finance Ministry.

    The Local Government Finance Equalization Fund's revenue will include a budget subsidy of EUR 50.923 million and local governments' contributions worth EUR 205.299 million.

    Two cities - Riga and Jurmala - as well as seven municipalities will be making contributions to the Local Government Finance Equalization Fund in 2026.

    Riga's contribution is planned at EUR 137.341 million, or 14.7 percent of personal income tax (PIT) revenue, while Jurmala's contribution is planned at EUR 14.55 million, or 17.1 percent of PIT revenue.

    The municipalities obliged to make contributions to the Local Government Finance Equalization Fund include Marupe (EUR 21,386,958), Ropazi (EUR 10,831,899), Kekava (EUR 7,438,009), Adazi (EUR 7,376,681), Saulkrasti (EUR 3,527,616), Salaspils (EUR 1,808,664), and Olaine (EUR 1,038,189).

    Daugavpils is planned to receive a subsidy of EUR 28,878,174, Jelgava EUR 5,997,504, Liepaja EUR 17,049,572, Rezekne EUR 8,201,443, and Ventspils EUR 4,814,470.

    Aizkraukle Municipality will receive a grant of EUR 6,492,168, Aluksne Municipality EUR 4,819,525, Augsdaugava Municipality EUR 9,966,343, Balvi Municipality EUR 7,336,482, and Bauska Municipality EUR 7,719,863.

    Cesis Municipality will receive a grant of EUR 8,847,898, Dienvidkurzeme Municipality EUR 9,273,333, Dobele Municipality EUR 4,587,291, and Gulbene Municipality EUR 5,608,982.

    Jelgava Municipality will receive a grant of EUR 2,258,733, Jekabpils Municipality EUR 11,491,007, Kraslava Municipality EUR 9,515,655, and Kuldiga Municipality EUR 9,010,333.

    Limbazi Municipality is planned to receive a grant of EUR 6,087,598, Livani Municipality EUR 2,830,516, Ludza Municipality EUR 9,652,810, and Madona Municipality EUR 9,135,913.

    Ogre Municipality will receive a grant of EUR 500,781, Preili Municipality EUR 5,839,556, Rezekne Municipality EUR 12,323,968, and Saldus Municipality EUR 7,155,631.

    Sigulda Municipality will receive a grant of EUR 1,130,805, Smiltene Municipality EUR 4,834,306, Talsi Municipality EUR 9,928,261, and Tukums Municipality EUR 8,867,956.

    Valka Municipality will receive a subsidy of EUR 3,056,530, Valmiera Municipality EUR 9,461,707, and Ventspils Municipality EUR 3,546,984.
