RIGA, Aug 23 (LETA) - In response to the hybrid attack carried out by the Belarusian regime and the increasing migration flows in Europe, it is planned to expand the "Daugavpils" accommodation center for detained foreigners.

Today, the government heard a report of the Ministry of the Interior on the implementation of the tasks set out in the government's action plan in the interior sector and their impact on the Latgale region.

The report states that, in response to the hybrid attack carried out by the Belarusian regime and the increasing migration flows in Europe, including due to the war waged by Russia against Ukraine, the ministry has developed a tender project application for the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, which, among other things, envisages activities for the expansion of the accommodation center "Daugavpils", adaptation of the the Ludza Administration of the State Border Guard for migrant screenings and for a creation of a temporary reception center for migrants.
