Government supports 20 municipal investment projects worth EUR 18 million
RIGA, Oct 4 (LETA) - The Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday supported the draft decision by the Environment Protection and Regional Development Ministry on granting government loan to 20 municipal projects, LETA learned from the ministry.
In total, 24 projects from 17 municipalities were evaluated. Loans worth EUR 14,531,275 will be granted to 20 projects for a total of EUR 18,953,774. This time government loans will be granted to municipalities of Jurmala, Riga, Rezekne, Ventspils, Aizkraukle, Aluksne, Adazi, Cesis, Kekava, Ludza, Sigulda, Preili, Ogre, Ropazi, Saldus and Talsi.
The largest funding worth EUR 4,504,502 will be invested in transport infrastructure - renovation of streets and roads, and a bridge.
In order to promote economic recovery from the Covid-19 crisis, the Environment Protection and Regional Development Ministry started a state loan program to local governments.
