Registered unemployment level in Latvia remains at 7.4% at end-November
RIGA, Dec 9 (LETA) - The registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 7.4 percent of the economically active population at the end of November, which is the same as at end-October, the State Employment Agency announced on Wednesday.
At the end of this past November, a total of 67,518 unemployed were registered with the Employment Agency, which is 394 more people than a month earlier, when 67,124 unemployed were registered with the agency.
The lowest unemployment rate at the end of November was registered in Greater Riga Region - 5.7 percent, which is 0.1 percentage points less than in October, while Latgale still had the highest unemployment rate of 15.1 percent, an increase of 0.1 percentage points.
Unemployment rate registered in Zemgale rose by 0.2 percentage points to 6.9 percent of the economically active population at the end of November, unemployment in Vidzeme increased 0.1 percentage points to 7.2 percent, and unemployment in Kurzeme increased 0.1 percentage points to 7.7 percent of the economically active population at the end of November.
Registered unemployment level in Riga decreased 0.1 percentage points to 5.7 percent of the economically active population in November.
