Greens/Farmers un New Unity win Saeima elections in Zemgale electoral district
RIGA, Oct 2 (LETA) - The Union of Greens and Farmers and New Unity showed the best results in the Zemgale electoral district, each winning three mandates in the 14th Saeima, the Central Election Commission's data shows.
With all polling station in Zemgale reporting their results, Greens/Farmers have won 19.55 percent and New Unity 18.75 percent of the vote.
The United List comes third in Zemgale with 12.4 percent and the National Alliance with 12.16 percent, which will likely give each party two mandates in the Saeima. Development/For, Latvia First and the Progressives have probably won one mandate each with 5.06 percent, 4.56 percent and 4.35 percent of the vote in Zemgale respectively. For Stability has received 3.02 percent of votes in Zemgale, which is not enough to get any mandates.
The situation, however, can still change as the overall results of two parties - Development/For and Harmony - are very close to the 5 percent mark necessary to win representation in parliament. Development/For is currently slightly above the 5 percent threshold and Harmony just below that mark.
