Municipalities around Riga have accommodated more Ukrainian refugees than capital city
RIGA, March 28 (LETA) - Six municipalities around Riga have provided accommodation to more Ukrainian war refugees than the Latvian capital city, the Ministry of the Interior informed.
As reported, Latvia's civil protection committees have helped 1,230 refugees fine accommodation in Riga. Meanwhile, 1,300 people have been accommodated in municipalities around Riga.
Of these people, 505 have been accommodated in Jurmala, 309 in Marupe, 229 in Kekava, 225 in Ropazi, 47 in Salaspils and 28 in Adazi.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Latvia civil protection committees have had to provide accommodation to 5,880 war refugees and 8,165 Ukrainian citizens have been issued humanitarian visas with the right to employment.
