Covid-19 vaccination rate in Daugavpils grows to 62%
RIGA, Dec 1 (LETA) - Covid-10 vaccination rate in Daugavpils has risen to 62 percent over the past weeks, said Vaccination Project Bureau's head Eva Juhnevica in an interview with the Latvian public television today.
She said that thus, the vaccination rate in Latvia's second largest city is just by 6 percentage points lower than in Riga where about 68 percent of residents have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
LETA reported a week ago that vaccination in eastern Latgale region has picked up. Juhnevica confirmed that this trend continues.
According to the Central Statistical Bureau data, in the middle of November, 51 percent of Daugavpils residents were vaccinated. Vaccination rate in the whole Latgale regions increased by 11 percentage points - from 37 percent to 48 percent.
