Anti-corruption operatives raid premises of Ogre Regional Council
RIGA, Feb 2 (LETA) - Officers of the Corruption Prevention Bureau (KNAB) on Wednesday raised the premises of Ogre Regional Council, Ogre mayor Egils Helmanis (National Alliance) informed Latvian Television.
During the search, the KNAB operatives seized documents related to a development project in a degraded territory in Parogre, Helmanis said. He declined to elaborate on the case.
KNAB also refused to provide more details about the raid, but recommended seeking information at the European Public Prosecutor's Office, a recently established supranational prosecution office investigating crimes against the financial interests of the European Union (EU).
