Kaminskis reelected chairman of Local and Regional Governments' Association
RIGA, Aug 22 (LETA) - Gints Kaminskis was reelected chairman of the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG) during the association's congress in Jelgava on Friday.
Kaminskis was reelected by 69 votes to 17.
This will be Kaminskis' third term as LALRG chairman - he has been the association's chairman since 2017. In the last local elections, Kaminskis was elected to the Dobele Region Council from the Latvian Farmers Union's ticket.
Valmiera Region Council's Chairman Janis Baiks (For Valmiera and Vidzeme) and Saldus Region Council's Chairman Maris Zusts (Latvian Green Party) were elected deputy chairmen of LALRG.
A new LALRG board will also be elected during the association's congress today.
