14 new EU-supported projects launched in Riga schools this year
Riga, Oct 9 (LETA) - A total of 61 European Union (EU) projects, including 14 new ones, are being implemented in 32 schools in Riga this year, with some schools receiving around EUR 60,000 in funding for this purpose, LETA was informed by the Riga City Council.
The new projects will help teachers improve their professional competences. The projects also include improving digital skills, foreign language skills, the learning environment and skills in STEM subjects.
To promote learning mobility for individuals and groups, as well as cooperation, quality, inclusion, equity, excellence, creativity and innovation in education, Erasmus+ offers accreditation for schools to engage in cross-border exchanges and cooperation.
Erasmus+ accreditation demonstrates that the applicant has prepared a plan to implement high quality mobility activities as part of a wider development strategy for their organization. 11 schools in Riga have received Erasmus+ accreditation.
A total of 66 schools in Riga have implemented 310 EU projects over a ten-year period.
