Latvian local governments should exercise ability to react in crisis - Chief of Defense
RIGA, Nov 2 (LETA) - Latvian local governments should actively exercise their ability to react in crisis situations, said National Armed Forces commander Leonids Kalnins in an interview with commercial TV3 television.
Asked about the cooperation of the army with other services, Kalnins said that he is most concerned about overall cooperation in the country, especially with local governments and NGOs.
"Looking at Ukraine's example, we see that the military administration head in the local region is not a military. Soldiers are at war. It means that local governments should take on much more responsibility," said Kalnins.
