Number of Covid-19 patients receiving hospital treatment rises to 707
RIGA, Oct 8 (LETA) - With another 80 Covid-19 patients hospitalized and 64 discharged in the past 24 hours, the number of Covid-19 patients receiving hospital treatment in Latvia has grown to 707, the National Health Service reports.
The previous time, the number oc hospitalized Covid-19 patients exceeded 700 was on May 17.
At present, 635 hospitalized Covid-19 patients are being treated for symptoms of medium severity and 72 patients or 10.2 percent are severe cases.
To date, 15,599 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from Latvia's hospitals.
As reported, Latvia confirmed 1,695 new Covid-19 cases and four persons died of the coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
