Three local lawmakers convene extraordinary meeting of Dundaga council
RIGA, April 21 (LETA) - Three lawmakers of Dundaga local council have convened an extraordinary meeting to discuss terminating lawmakers' mandates before the term of the council expires, according to information published on the internet website of the local government.
The extraordinary meeting is necessary because all four opposition lawmakers from Let's Work Together and Society for Our County have decided to put down their mandates. Candidates that are further on the list of the said political forces have said that they will not step into the council.
As reported, Environment Protection and Regional Development Minister Arturs Toms Pless (For Development) have convened the extraordinary meeting of the Dundaga local council for election of the council chairman. The council has been without a chairman since January 28 and a new chairman has to be elected by March 28.
