Set of measures motivating residents to get vaccinated will be revised - Pavluts
RIGA, June 8 (LETA) - The set of measures motivating residents to get vaccinated against Covid-19 will be revised in order to better target the risk groups, including senior citizens, Health Minister Daniels Pavluts (For Development/For) told reporters on Tuesday.
With the new measures, the Covid-19 vaccination strategy will reach out to more people, said Pavluts. There will be more mobile vaccination sites, while senior residents will be offered to get vaccinated at home. The government is closely cooperating with local governments to implement the new measures, said Pavluts.
The Health Ministry will also cooperate with the Education and Science Ministry to achieve that as many students and teachers as possible are vaccinated by the start of the next school year.
Asked about a vaccination bulletin that was proposed a couple of months ago, Pavluts said that the bulletin plans had been put off. "We print a lot of different materials, in several languages, which are distributed through vaccination sites in cooperation with municipal institutions, and in other ways so residents could conveniently receive them," said Pavluts.
As reported, the number of residents who had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine continued to decrease last week, even though a record number received the second dose, according to the National Health Service.
