Latvian Association of Regions wins local elections in Adazi Region
RIGA, June 6 (LETA) - The Latvian Association of Regions (LRA) won local elections in Adazi Region on Saturday, receiving 44.36 percent of the vote.
Adazi mayor Maris Sprindzuks ran in the elections as lead candidate on the LRA ticket.
The Latvian Farmers' Union placed second with 24.17 percent of the vote, the New Conservative Party followed with 11.23 percent and Harmony with 6.78 percent.
The joint ticket of Movement For and New Unity won 6.6 percent and the Green Party received 5.58 percent of the vote.
As reported, 327,938 voters or 34.01 percent of eligible voters cast their votes in this year's local government elections, according to the Central Election Commission's data.
This is the lowest voter turnout since the restoration of independence.
