Third cruise ship calls at Liepaja Port this year
RIGA, July 19 (LETA) - The Fred Olsen Balmoral cruise ship called at Latvia's southwestern port of Liepaja on Tuesday, LETA was told at the administration of the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (Liepaja SEZ).
This is the third cruise ship visiting Liepaja this year. Two more cruise ships are expected to arrive in Liepaja within a month.
The Balmoral started the cruise in Edinburg, UK, on July 16, with 667 passengers on board. Most of them seized the opportunity to go on excursion in Liepaja. Passengers were also offered to visit the nearby rural territory of Rucava, Liepaja SEZ informed.
The cruise ship left Liepaja in the evening and sailed to Saaremaa in Estonia.
The next cruise ship, the Seven Seas Splendor, is due to arrive in Liepaja on July 21.
