Ogre municipality awards EUR 17,800 to six projects for preservation of sacral heritage
Riga, March 26 (LETA) - On Thursday, Ogre municipality granted EUR 17,800 to six projects for the preservation of buildings of sacral heritage, LETA was informed.
The Ogre municipal council has approved the allocation of funding for the preservation of sacral heritage buildings in Madliena, Mengele, Suntazi, Jumprava and Ogre.
The funding has been awarded in the competition "Preservation of buildings of sacral heritage in Ogre municipality", implemented in accordance with the municipality's binding regulations and cultural heritage preservation policy. This initiative is an important part of the municipality's long-term approach to ensuring a balance between development and the preservation of values, the municipality stresses.
The supported projects cover both national and local cultural monuments - Madliena Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mengele Evangelical Lutheran Church, Suntazi Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jumprava Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ogre Evangelical Lutheran Church and Ogre Trinity Baptist Church.
The funding will be used for specific restoration and renovation works, including strengthening of the church structures, restoration of windows and doors, as well as energy efficiency improvements.
Funding is limited to €3 000 per project.
