RIGA, July 9 (LETA) - The registered unemployment rate in Latvia at the end of June this year was 5 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.1 percentage point more than a month earlier, according to information published by the State Employment Agency (NVA).

At the end of June 2025, a total of 43,414 unemployed people were registered with the NVA, 303 more than a month earlier, when 43,111 unemployed people were registered with the agency.

The lowest registered unemployment rate at the end of June was still in the Riga region - 3.8 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.1 percentage point more than a month earlier, while the highest registered unemployment rate was in the Latgale region - 10.3 percent, a decrease of 0.2 percentage points.

At the same time, in Kurzeme the registered unemployment rate at the end of June was 5.3 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.1 percentage point higher than a month earlier.

In Zemgale, the unemployment rate at the end of June was 4.7 percent of the economically active population, the same as at the end of May, while in Vidzeme the unemployment rate at the end of June was 4.4 percent, the same as at the end of May.

At the end of 2024, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 5.3 percent of the economically active population.
