One fifth of Latvia's latest Covid-19 cases registered in Riga
RIGA, Jan 14 (LETA) - Out of the 950 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in Latvia over the past 24 hours, one fifth were recorded in Riga and the number of infections has increased also in Talsi and Engure countries, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
The 187 new cases discovered in Riga brought the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the Latvian capital to 3,492.
Talsi county reported 86 new cases as the 14-day number of Covid-19 cases in the region rose to 284.
In Engure country, the cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases reached 248, with 86 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours.
With 3,492 Covid-19 cases recorded in the past two weeks, Riga remains the municipality with the highest cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases, followed by Daugavpils with 925, Rezekne with 468.
Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population is now 633.1.
