Warm temperature records broken in Latvia for seventh consecutive day
Riga, March 13 (LETA) - On Friday, the maximum air temperature records in Latvia were broken for the seventh day in a row, data from the Latvian Centre for Environment, Geology and Meteorology show.
By two o'clock on March 13, the warm temperarure record was broken at 13 observation stations in Latvia, the highest air temperature was +13.4 degrees C in Kolka and Madona.
The national record was not broken - on 13 March 2007 in Mersrags the air warmed up to +15.3 degrees C.
In the last two weeks, warm temperature records have been broken on ten days, with a total of 74 records broken.
As reported, Saturday will remain sunny and windy, with further warm temperature records expected.
The current Latvian record for warmth on 14 March is +13.6 degrees C in Riga in 1972.
