Physics exams suspended in several municipalities due to possible threat to Latvian airspace
RIGA, May 20 (LETA) - Physics exams for grade 9 students were suspended in Kraslava, Ludza and Rezekne municipalities and the city of Rezekne on Tuesday due to possible threat to Latvian airspace, the State Education Development Agency confirmed to LETA.
The exams were due to start at 10 a.m., but a warning was issued about a possible airspace threat before that. Students in the municipalities affected will have to take their exams after July 2.
The second part of the centralized Latvian language exam for grade 9 students was also supposed to take place later today.
As reported, residents of several municipalities in Latgale region received a cell broadcast notification of a possible threat in airspace on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Tuesday, the notification was also sent to residents of several of municipalities in Vidzeme.
On Tuesday, the centralized Latvian language exam for grade 9 students was suspended in ten municipalities for the same reason.
