Prime Minister to pay working visit to eastern border
RIGA, April 30 (LETA) - Prime Minister Evika Silina (New Unity) will pay a working visit to the eastern border on Thursday, April 30, to see what has been done in recent years to construct the border, strengthen the airspace and implement anti-mobility measures, the State Chancellery told LETA.
Silina is scheduled to visit the Friendship Kurgan, tour the eastern section of the border, as well as familiarize herself with the border's air defense infrastructure. The Prime Minister will also visit the Silene border checkpoint.
Silina will be accompanied on her visit by Interior Minister Rihards Kozlovskis (New Unity), State Border Guard Chief Guntis Pujats, Egils Lescinskis, Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of the National Armed Forces (NBS) for Operational Affairs, Deputy State Secretary of the Defense Ministry Andis Dilans, as well as other representatives of the Defense Ministry, State Border Guard and the National Armed Forces.
