RIGA, Nov 15 (LETA) - From today to November 18, Riga will once again hos the annual Staro Riga (Beaming Riga) light festival, which will feature more than 40 light installations, LETA was informed by the Riga City Council's Communications Department.

During this time, from 5 pm to 11 pm, Riga's streets and parks will be illuminated with light installations and the city's urban environment will offer an opportunity to see original light art objects.

The theme of the festival this year is Harbingers of the Dawn. Dawn is the time after a dark night when the first rays of the sun, its messengers, break through the darkness, lighting the way for a new day, according to the event organizers. Staro Riga invites all to see the light as a harbinger of a new beginning - as hope born out of darkness.

The route of the Staro Riga 2025 festival of light will consist of six Circles of Light through the city.

Visitors will be greeted by more than 40 light objects telling the story of dawn, hope and a new day. The festival route is adapted for shorter or longer walks, with a total length of approximately six kilometers, and is designed to be walked in a single evening or over several evenings, choosing to see the light objects in each individual circle of light.

This year's festival will not only feature works by local light artists, but also many installations and light objects by international artists.

Artists from Portugal, North Macedonia, the Netherlands, France, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, Romania and Italy will be present, together making up one third of the total selection of light objects in this year's festival.
