    Revenue of Fund for Equalization of Local Government Finances planned at EUR 256.22 million next year

    Riga, Dec 22 (LETA) - The revenues of Fund for the Equalization of Local Government Finances in 2026 are planned at EUR 256.222 million, which is 4.1 percent more than in 2025, according to the Cabinet of Ministers regulations, approved by the government on Monday.

    The revenue of the Fund for the Equalization of Local Government Finances will consist of a state budget subsidy of EUR 50.923 million and local government contributions of EUR 205.299 million.

    In 2026, two cities - Riga and Jurmala - as well as seven municipalities will contribute to the Fund.

    Riga's contribution is planned at EUR 137.341 million, or 14.7 percent of personal income tax revenues, while Jurmala's contribution is EUR 14.55 million, or 17.1 percent of personal income tax revenues.

    It is also planned that Marupe municipality will contribute to EUR 21,386,958 or 25.3 percent of its personal income tax revenue, Ropazi municipality - EUR 10,831,899 or 17.5 percent, Kekava municipality - EUR 7,438,009 or 14.3 percent, Adazi municipality - EUR 7,376,681 or 17.7 percent, Saulkrasti municipality - EUR 3,527,616 or 20.8 percent, Salaspils municipality - EUR 1,808,664 or 5.6 percent, and Olaine municipality - EUR 1,038,189 or 3.9 percent of the personal income tax revenue.

    Daugavpils is planned to receive EUR 28,878,174 or 11.3 percent from Fund for the Equalisation of Local Government Finances, and Liepaja - EUR 17,049,572 or 6.7 percent.

    The other beneficiaries will receive less than EUR 10 million, including three large cities - Rezekne - EUR 8,201,443 or 3.2 percent of the total, Jelgava - EUR 5,997,504 or 2.3 percent and Ventspils - EUR 4,814,470 or 1.9 percent.

    Aizkraukle municipality is to receive a grant of EUR 6,492,168 or 2.5 percent, Aluksne municipality - EUR 4,819,525 or 1.9 percent, Augsdaugava municipality - EUR 9,966,343 or 3.9 percent, Balvi municipality - EUR 7,336,482 or 2.9 percent and Bauska municipality - EUR 7,719,863 or 3 percent.

    Cesis municipality will receive EUR 8,847,898 or 3.5 percent, Dienvidkurzeme municipality - EUR 9,273,333 or 3.6 percent, Dobele municipality - EUR 4,587,291 or 1.8 percent and Gulbene municipality - EUR 5,608,982 or 2.2 percent.

    Jelgava municipality will receive EUR 2,258,733 or 0.9 percent, Jekabpils municipality - EUR 11,491,007 or 4.5 percent, Kraslava municipality - EUR 9,515,655 or 3.7 percent and Kuldiga municipality - EUR 9,010,333 or 3.5 percent from the equalization fund.

    Limbazi municipality will receive EUR 6,087,598 or 2.4 percent, Livani municipality - EUR 2,830,516 or 1.1 percent, Ludza municipality - EUR 9,652,810 or 3.8 percent, and Madona municipality - EUR 9,135,913 or 3.6 percent.

    Ogre municipality will receive EUR 500,781 or 0.2 percent, Preili municipality - EUR 5,839,556 or 2.3 percent, Rezekne municipality - EUR 12,323,968 or 4.8 percent and Saldus municipality - EUR 7,155,631 or 2.8 percent.

    Sigulda municipality will receive EUR 1,130,805 or 0.4 percent, Smiltene municipality - EUR 4,834,306 or 1.9 percent, Talsi municipality - EUR 9,928,261 or 3.9 percent and Tukums Municipality - EUR 8,867,956 or 3.5 percent.

    Valka Municipality will receive EUR 3,056,530 or 1.2 percent, Valmiera municipality - EUR 9,461,707 or 3.7 percent, and Ventspils municipality - EUR 3,546,984 or 1.4 percent from the fund.
