    Riga records all-time highest number of active Covid-19 cases

    RIGA, Oct 8 (LETA) - Riga reported 492 new Covid-19 cases ove the past 24 hours, thus, the cumulative two-week incidence has reached 4,535 Covid-19 cases, which is the all-time highest number of active cases.

    According to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), Daugavpils reported 118 new Covid-19 cases and the cumulative two-week incidence has reached 862 people.

    Meanwhile, Jekabpils municipality registered 73 new cases, Valmiera municipality registered 66 cases, Liepaja - 65, Kuldiga municipality - 56, Jurmala - 55 cases, Ventspils - 51 cases, Cesis municipality - 46 cases, Augsdaugava municipality - 41 cases, Ropazi municipality - 38 cases, Ogre municipality and Rezekne - 35 cases each, Jelgava and Kraslava municipality - 32 cases each, Madona and Salaspils municipality - 30 cases each. A number of other municipalities recorded fewer cases.

    Latvia's cumulative 14-day number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population is now 784.1, according to LETA's estimates, based on CDC data.
