RIGA, Dec 28 (LETA) - During the past 24 hours, 78 Covid-19 patients were hospitalized, one of them was transferred to a different hospital, while the number of patients with severe symptoms has reached a new negative record - 61, according to the National Health Service data.

In total, there are 1,048 Covid-19 patients currently being treated in Latvian hospitals, including 987 with symptoms of medium severity and 61 suffering severe symptoms.

Also, 19 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, including one who was transferred to a different hospital, bringing the total number of patients discharged from hospitals so far to 3,093.

As reported, another 508 people in Latvia tested positive for Covid-18 on Sunday, while 19 patients died of the coronavirus disease, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).
