Riga, March 20 (LETA) - Air temperatures will drop below freezing in most of Latvia in the coming nights, but afternoons will be spring-like warm, according to the weather forecast.

In the previous three weeks, 122 warm temperature records were broken. No new records are expected as temperatures will not climb as high as on some days in the first half of March.

Saturday and Sunday will be dry and mostly sunny, with a light breeze, while a moderate south-western breeze is expected at times on Sunday. Air temperatures on Saturday will drop to -1.. -6 degrees C at night and rise to +8.. +12 degrees C in the afternoon, with a low of +5 degrees C along the coast. Sunday is expected to be one or two degrees warmer.

Monday is expected to be similar, with more clouds. The chance of precipitation will increase from Monday evening. Rain is expected next week, with hail and sleet possible. Winds will pick up, mainly from the south-west.
