May 3 high temperature record broken in Kolka, Bauska and Mersrags
RIGA, May 3 (LETA) - The high temperature record for May 3 was broken in Kolka, Bauska and Mersrags on Sunday, according to the Latvian Centre for Environment, Geology and Meteorology.
In Kolka, the air warmed up to +20.8 degrees C. The previous highest air temperature recorded in Kolka on May 3 was +18.2 degrees C in 1990.
In Mersrags, the air temperature reached +25.3 degrees C, in Bauska the air warmed up to +26.9 degrees C.
These are the first temperature records broken in Latvia since March. In February, six high temperature records and 19 low temperature records were broken, and in March - 123 high temperature records.
At other observation stations, the air temperature at 15:00 ranged from +9.2 degrees C in Ventspils harbor to +25.9 degrees C in Jelgava.
