Border guards detain 11 Lithuanian and Ukrainian nationals traveling on fake Covid-19 tests
RIGA, May 20 (LETA) - Eleven citizens of Lithuania and Ukraine were detained in Latvia on Wednesday after they presented fake Covid-19 test results to to border guards.
As LETA was told at the State Border Guard, eight Ukrainians and one Lithuanian were detained in the Bauska region and two Lithuanians were apprehended in the municipality of Eleja for entering Latvia on counterfeit test results.
Administrative proceedings were started against four Ukrainians and the others are facing administrative sanctions.
In all, more than 100 persons traveling on forged or invalid Covid-19 test results have so far been detained by border guards in Latvia.
