Air temp reaches +33 degrees C at Ventspils port
RIGA, June 28 (LETA) - At 13:00 on Tuesday air temperature rose to +33.1 degrees C at Ventspils port, which is the highest temperature registered in Latvia sine July 16, when +33.7 degrees C were reported in Daugavpils, according to the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center's data.
Ventspils meteorological center is located in the territory of the port, therefore southeastern wind brings the warm air from the city, which is the reason temperature records are usually registered here, including Latvia's absolute high temperature record of +37.8 degrees C on August 4, 2014.
The temperature at Ventspils airport did not climb over +31 degrees C by 14:00 today.
The temperature is at +30..+32 degrees C all over Latvia today, and the June 28 record has been beaten in many places. The national June 28 record of +34.6 degrees C, recorded in 1973, has not been beaten.
