RIGA, March 10 (LETA) - The registered unemployment rate in Latvia at the end of February was 5.2 percent of the economically active population, which is the same as a month earlier, according to information published by the State Employment Agency (NVA).

At the end of February, a total of 45,761 people were registered as unemployed with the NVA, which is 32 more than a month earlier, when 45,729 unemployed people were registered with the agency.

The lowest registered unemployment rate at the end of February was still in the Riga region - 3.8 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.1 percentage points less than month earlier, while the highest registered unemployment rate was in the Latgale region - 10.6 percent, up 0.1 percentage points from the end of January 2026.

In Kurzeme, the registered unemployment remained at 5.8 percent of the economically active population, the registered unemployment rate in Zemgale increased 0.1 percentage points to 5.3 percent, and in Vidzeme the registered unemployment remained at 5 percent.

At the end of 2025, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 5 percent of the economically active population.
