Train traffic restored in Latvia's eastern regions
RIGA, May 19 (LETA) - Train traffic in Latvia's eastern regions was restored Tuesday afternoon, Pasazieru Vilciens (PV) rail passenger carrier, which operates under the Vivi brand, said.
It will take some time before all trains are running as scheduled, PV also said.
As reported, train traffic in Latvia's eastern border area was suspended at midday on Tuesday due to a drone alert, according to information released by PV.
An air alert was issued in the municipalities of Kraslava, Ludza, Rezekne, Preili, Madona, Cesis, Gulbene, Smiltene, and Valmiera. Train traffic in these municipalities was suspended until the alert was lifted.
The emergency has affected train traffic on the Kraslava, Zilupe, and Gulbene railway lines, as well as on the Valga line.
