Presence of municipal police in Riga to be strengthened during UEFA Europa League match
RIGA, Nov 6 (LETA) - The Riga Municipal Police plans to increase its presence during a UEFA Europa League match in the Latvian capital tomorrow night, LETA was told at the municipal press office.
Riga Vice Mayor Edvards Ratnieks (National Alliance/Latvian Association of Regions) has ordered the Riga Municipal Police to deploy additional law enforcement forces to maintain public order and prevent possible offenses by hot-blooded football fans during the match between Latvia's FC RFS and Belgium's Anderlecht.
The municipal police will follow a plan developed by the State Police.
