    People in the Baltic States prefer local tourism this summer - survey

    RIGA, June 23 (LETA) - This summer, residents of the Baltic States are mostly planning to travel within their own countries, as well as to visit neighboring countries, representatives of the Latvian vehicle rental agency Booking Group Corporation, which represents the website EconomyBookings.com, informed LETA, referring to the data of a conducted survey.

    Among them, 26 percent of the surveyed Latvians will travel around Latvia, 33 percent of Estonians plan to travel around Estonia and 40 percent of Lithuanians will explore Lithuania.

    At the same time, 30 percent of Latvian residents, 24 percent of Lithuanians and 33 percent of Estonians do not plan to go on a trip this summer.

    Latvians, Lithuanians and Estonians also mention Italy, France, Croatia and other countries as destinations this summer.

    According to the company's statistics, this year, as in previous years, people in the Baltic States are choosing economy and compact cars for their rental trips. In general, the average rental period is between seven and eight days. In Milan, Rome and Barcelona, the average rental period is five to seven days, while in Corfu, Alicante and Heraklion it is eight to 14 days.

    The survey was conducted by market research company Norstat for EconomyBookings.com, with 1,005, 1,000 and 1,000 people aged 18-74 in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia respectively surveyed online in June 2025.
