European Parliament First Vice President Karas to arrive on working visit to Riga
RIGA, April 8 (LETA) - European Parliament First Vice-President Othmar Karas will arrive on a working visit to Riga on Monday, April 10.
LETA learned from the European Parliament spokesman in Latvia, Janis Krastins, that Karas with Riga vice mayor Linda Ozola (Conservatives) will visit the Ukrainian refugee center and also meet with Saeima vice speaker Inese Libina-Egnere (New Unity).
Krastins said that the European Parliament plenary session in Strassbourg this week decided to allocate EUR 3.4 million to those member states who admit refugees from Ukraine and called for harsher sanctions on Russia.
