Registered unemployment in Latvia remains at 4.7% at end-October
RIGA, Nov 10 (LETA) - The registered unemployment rate in Latvia at the end of October this year was 4.7 percent of the economically active population, which is unchanged from a month earlier, according to information published by the State Employment Agency (NVA).
At the end of October 2025, a total of 40,854 people were registered as unemployed with the NVA, which is 254 fewer than a month earlier, when 41,108 unemployed people were registered with the agency.
The lowest registered unemployment rate at the end of October was still in the Riga region - 3.6 percent of the economically active population, which is 0.1 percentage points less than a month earlier, while the highest registered unemployment rate was in the Latgale region - 9.7 percent, the same as at the end of September.
In Kurzeme, the registered unemployment rate remained unchanged at 4.9 percent of the economically active population, the registered unemployment rate in Zemgale decreased 0.1 percentage points to 4.3 percent, and in Vidzeme the registered unemployment rate did not change and was 4.2 percent.
At the end of 2024, the registered unemployment rate in Latvia was 5.3 percent of the economically active population.
