Cesis to open support center for Ukrainian war refugees
RIGA, March 10 (LETA) - A support center for people fleeing war in Ukraine will open in the northern Latvian city of Cesis this Friday, March 11, the local government's representative Aleksandrs Abramovs informed LETA.
The support center has been set up at at 8 Jana Poruka Street.
At the support center, specially trained volunteers will be providing necessary information to the Ukrainian refugees and advising local residents on how to help them.
Abramovs said that depending on the situation, other activities can also be organized to support the refugees arriving in Cesis Region and Ukraine's people in general.
As at March 9, a total of 47 people had arrived from Ukraine in Cesis Region, including 14 children, aged four to 19, and 30 women. Most of them are staying in Cesis City.
