RIGA, Dec 13 (LETA) - Gulbene municipality still remains the Latvian municipality with the highest Covid-19 incidence, and the rate of infections in Salaspils and Saulkrasti municipalities is also high, according to the data released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC).

Latvia's cumulative two-week number of Covid-19 cases has dropped to 501.1 per 100,000 population. In the past day, Covid-19 incidence in Gulbene municipality declined from 1,111.2 to 1,101 cases per 100,000 population.

In Salaspils municipality, cumulative Covid-19 incidence is 013.9 cases per 100,000 population, while in Saulrkasti is has reached 769.2 cases.

In nine municipalities, the number of active Covid-19 infections currently exceed Latvia's average rate.

Of the 271 new Covid-19 cases confirmed in the past 24 hours, more than half or 162 cases, have been recorded in Riga where the number of active cases has increased to 3,429.
